👋 Hey, I'm Sophia!

(In Chinese: 杨嘉 Yang Jia)

I'm a full-stackproduct designer with a background in Data Science and Communication from USC.

Whether I'm redesigning products that millions of people use or building something from scratch, my approach stays the same: find the patterns hiding in chaos, then turn them into systems that just make sense. My data science background taught me to see what others miss, and I use those insights to design experiences that are both intuitive and grounded in evidence.

Outside of work, you’ll probably find me hopping between coffee shops in LA. Usually with matcha in hand, experimenting with interactions, exploring new tools, and chasing ideas that keep me curious.

Speaking of my design process…

💡 It's systematic and adaptable.

My design journey began with curiosity

🤔 How can visual elements and data come together to craft compelling stories?

My journey into design started with a handmade board game I built while teaching English to kids in my neighborhood. I wanted to make the lessons more fun, so I created a handmade board game. But that moment taught me something I've carried with me ever since: design is about clarity, connection, and helping people do what they need to do, better.

My goal is to

🖌️ Connect pixels with people, make technology more accessible, and push the boundaries of how we interact in a digital world.

I believe good design goes beyond aesthetics - it forges real connections and deeper understanding. By combining craftsmanship with systematic thinking, I develop solutions that don’t just look great, but also inspire and drive measurable outcomes.
